Condolence on the great son of the soil

A public condolence meeting attended near about 10,000 people including elites and community leaders was held at village Majheegati of Gopalganj District on March 11th in remembrance of Late Sree Bhabani Sankar Biswas, former Minister of Health Labour and Social Welfare during Pakistan Regime from 1962 to 1965. 

Bhabani Shankar Biswas, Father of Dulal Biswas, Secretary General, National Federation of Youth Organisations in Bangladeshhave passed away on 27th January 2011, Thursday night (Near about 8:00pm) at a Hospital in Dhaka.

Speakers expressed deepest sympathyand sorrow while speaking at the occasion and prayed to almighty for his departed soul restin peace in heaven.

They mentioned, “We pay our last pronams (deepest homage and regards, mingled with respect) to the memory of Sree Bhabani Sankar Biswas, the great leader of the unprivileged people and pledge to carry on the noble work to establish legal rights of the scheduled cast people which he worked till the very last and gave his life.
Mr. Biswas, was born in 1918 at the Village Majheegati, PS. Musudpur, Dist. Gopalganj, Greater Faridpur. He was a meritorious student Orakandi Mid High Schooland had many scholarships during his student life. He was graduated from Calcutta University in 1944. He started his career as a school teacher at Chanderhat, Greater Khulna. He established some high schools in Mauksudpur and Kashiani and performed duty as headmaster of Induhati Hagh School, Dighargati High Schooletc.
He was elected MLA in 1954 and 1962 in the former East PakistanProvincial Assembly as a independent candidate. He took charge of the Ministry of HealthLabour and Social Welfare in 1962. He established 5 Medical Collegesin the country during his Ministry.
In his long political life he performed many humanitarian services and duties. He was patriot and honest in life.

Bhabani Shankar Biswas, Ex-Minister, Father of Mr. Dulal Biswas, Secretary General, NFYOB have passed away today, Thursday night (Near about 8:00pm) at CARE Hospital in Dhaka. May Lord let his soul rest in peace… We express deep shock and sorrow at his sudden death.

Mr. Biswas, was born in 1918 at the Village Majheegati, PS. Musudpur, Dist. Gopalganj, Greater Faridpur.
